I CLASS myself as a reasonably tolerant driver of 46 years experience.

I laugh at road rage and cry over some of the bad driving I see, but nothing makes me madder than those cyclists who, after donning those silly plastic helmets and silly Lycra shorts, do not use cycle tracks.

This is particularly noticeable on the A19 from Rawcliffe to Skelton, where not only a cycle path but an underpass was provided at great expense a few years ago.

Residents with their children always use the path for safety reasons, but those other cyclists with their uniforms on just ignore it and cause congestion and unsafe conditions for the other road users.

The police should prosecute these people. If I drove on a cycle path I wouldn’t get ten yards before the blue lights would appear.
