NOT everyone will have enjoyed yesterday’s snow - it brought huge disruption in its wake. But for every self-respecting photographer, it provided an irresistible challenge: how to get a snow picture that was just that little bit different from the rest...

Members of The Press Camera Club were no exception. Many were out until their ‘trigger fingers’ went numb from the cold, in search of that elusive classic image.

We think you’ll agree they did rather well. Sue Butler’s ‘snowy day picture’ is pure chocolate box - until you realise the bright red boxes aren’t letterboxes at all, but receptacles for dog poo. How very 21st century...

There were some lovely scenic views, such as those by Mike Pollard and Michelle Potts on these pages. And Anita Barber’s country lane image was a wonderful exercise in abstract art, thanks to the shape of the tree branches outlined against the snow.

There were plenty of animal photos, too - such as Simon Lombard’s image of puppies playing in the snow, Angela Waites’ huddled sheep - and Jess Clark’s glorious image of a hare in the snow, its fur lighted up by low-lying sun.

Great photos all...
