IN the latest edition of our look back through the archives, here are three football teams from years gone by, sent in by our readers.
Pictured above in 1967, Rowntree Youth Club at Bootham Crescent, playing that season in York & District Division Two. The picture was taken prior to their epic Junior Cup Final against British Sugar which ended 1-1 after extra time.
The final was significant because the match went to 4 replays before RYC finally prevailed 3-1 at the Civil Service Sports Ground. It was the longest contested Junior Cup game in York and District football.
