IN the latest edition of our look back through the archives, here are five Selby football teams from the 80s.

Do you recognise yourself or anyone you know in any of these great photos?

Above, the 1986 Selby miners battled it out with local police, in a friendly confrontation on the sports field which proved that despite the year-long pit strike, they were on the best of terms.

Miners' captain Ray Harrop, left, in the foreground, and police captain Dave Pegg, are pictured here with their teams at Selby High School.

The game was organised by DC Pegg, secretary of the police team, who were always on the lookout for a challenge from local sides.

The miners won 3-1.
