THIS week, as readers are no doubt aware, is the 60th anniversary of Blue Peter.
The programme has been connected with York several times - I remember the team of Noakes, Purves and Singleton coming to the Castle Museum, I think in the 1960s, and I also filmed Valerie Singleton in 1972 going down a Roman sewer which runs under St Sampson’s Square next to Brown’s department store.
A photograph was taken by the Yorkshire Evening Press and I have had it for 46 years.
