IN the Traffic Notices (The Press, July 13) mention is made of the traffic restrictions in force outside the school in Hamilton Drive.
I suppose it is just a coincidence that this notice is issued a week before the school breaks up for the summer break.
During term time twice a day, five days a week, local residents have to put up with cars doing the school run parked across their driveways, parked on grass verges, parked on double and single yellow lines and parked on blind corners creating a blind spot for other vehicles.
How often do we see police or traffic wardens monitoring the situation? Never – you have more chance of seeing flying pigs.
At least in a week’s time things will revert to normal when school breaks up and the local residents can enjoy a quiet summer until September, when all hell will once again break loose.
