They will accompany the flame on an open top bus tour around the city before jumping on adaptable bikes to cycle to leisure centre Energise, on Cornlands Road, Acomb . Here the flame will be the centrepiece of Celebrating Ability Day, a free day of accessible sport for disabled people.

The accolade follows Dom, who has cerebral palsy, being shortlisted for the National Diversity Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence in the disability category.

Dom said: "It's an absolute honour and a privilege for me to be nominated to travel with the flame for York's Celebrating Ability day. It's a once in a lifetime experience, and I feel very lucky."
