YORK employee volunteering charity York Cares has appointed Angela Darlington, chief risk officer for Aviva ’s Life Insurance business, as its new chairman.
Miss Darlington takes over from John Lister, also from Aviva, who has held the role since 2008.
Four local businesses – TSYS, Waitrose, Minster Law and DE Ford Insurance Brokers – have also joined the charity, bringing the number of companies using the charity’s volunteering programmes to 35.
Miss Darlington said: “John has done a fabulous job as chair of York Cares. I am looking forward to taking the helm of a hugely successful local organisation, which has made a massive contribution to the city.”
