A SWANKY new London restaurant is to provide diners with a genuine taste of Yorkshire.
The new English Gillray’s Steakhouse & Bar, based in London’s County Hall, in the shadows of the House of Parliament and overlooking the Thames, has signed a deal with Thirsk-based cheese maker Shepherds Purse.
The deal will see the new restaurant serve Shepherds Purse’s Yorkshire Blue cheese.
Katie Matten, joint managing director, said: “We were fortunate to take a team of directors, chefs and front-of-house restaurant staff on a dairy tour at Shepherds Purse to give them an insight into the passion and pride that goes into making our handmade cheeses. We know Yorkshire Blue will be well received on the cheeseboard at Gillrays and will also be used in dishes on the menu.”
