TURF company Lindum has developed a range of roof mats to encourage pollination and biodiversity in green roofs.
The York-based business will display the range at the Ecobuild exhibition in London from today to Thursday, after working with Prof Nigel Dunnett, at the University of Sheffield.
Stephen Fell, managing director of Lindum, said: “Green space is increasingly seen as an important part of helping our cities to adapt and mitigate against the effects of climate change.”
“Pollinating insects, such as common butterflies, moths, hoverflies and bees, have been declining over the last 50 years, so the big potential to change this is with urban areas on roofs.’’
