CONSTRUCTION trainees from York have until Friday to enter the regional SkillBuild competition. SkillBuild covers ten crafts including bricklaying, cabinet making, carpentry, dry walling systems, joinery, painting and decorating, plastering, roofing, stonemasonry and wall and floor tiling.
Winners of regional heats in June can go on to the three-day national final in September.
Russell Buckley, regional delivery manager for CITB-ConstructionSkills in Yorkshire and Humber, said: “The competition encourages young trainees to take pride in their skills and chosen craft but also nurtures that drive for continuous improvement and upskilling.”
