Harriet, cousin of director James Naish, joins as head of residential agency with 15 years of experience as a residential valuer in Yorkshire in firms including DTZ, Halifax Estate Agency and Bridgfords.

Steve Emmett, York Residential Landlords Association

York RLA, which works to improve standards in the private rented sector throughout the Greater York area, has appointed Steve Emmett as membership administrator. Steve gained a diploma in construction and surveying from YCAT before moving on to study at the Architectural Association in London and for more than 20 years ran his own international estate agency, during which time he was the longest ever serving chairman of the Federation of Overseas Property Developers, Agents and Consultants (FOPDAC).

Graham Stabler Bluefin Insurance Services

Graham taks on the role as branch manager of the York office. Graham, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry, transfers from the company’s Harrogate office.

Tim Gorman, Pryers Solicitors

Pryers has appointed Tim Gorman as a partner. Tim has already set up and run a highly successful law firm in the North East, and will strengthen the Pryers brand, which has grown substantially over the last couple of years and has plans for further expansion in their key areas of medical law, product law and personal injury work, said principal Ian Pryer.

Ann Scott, S Harrison Group

Ann has been promoted to managing director of York property and development company S Harrison Group. Ann, a first class honours graduate and chartered management accountant, had previously worked for BT and Kelda subsidiary White Rose Environmental before joining S Harrison as finance director in 2001.

Neil Barneswith, Benenden Healthcare Society

The York-based mutual, has appointed Neil Barnes media relations manager. Neil, right, has been promoted from the in-house communications team to take on the new role, which has been created to capitalise on its expanding media opportunities and online profile. Neil, who is also a city councillor for the Hull Road Ward, has worked at Benenden Healthcare for five years, having started as an admin assistant in 2007.

Nicholas Lawson, Hunter Gee Holroyd

The chartered accountancy and business advice firm, Hunter Gee Holroyd, based in York, has appointed Nicholas Lawson, previously an independent financial advisor for HSBC and Chase de Vere Investments Ltd, as financial consultant in the company’s financial management division.

John Dunsford, Cartridge World

John is to become the new European finance director, to head up the company’s UK and European finance teams from Cartridge World’s Franchise Support Unit in Harrogate. John, who qualified as an accountant at Ernst & Young in London, joins Cartridge World from holiday letting agency, Hoseasons.

Ashleigh Burns, Goldsborough Hall

Ashleigh has been appointed as business development manager and acting general manager.

She joins the Knaresborough stately home and wedding venue after working at the Hotel du Vin in Harrogate for more than eight years.

Antony Blyth, Barclays Corporate

Antony Blyth is the new agriculture corporate relationship director for the North Yorkshire business team.

Antony, who has worked for Barclays for ten years, has previously worked in the West Yorkshire team looking after clients with a turnover in excess of £5 million. Based in Harrogate, Antony will join Tim Watson who has been supporting the agriculture sector in North Yorkshire for the last five years.
