AN East Yorkshire preserves producer has won two awards for its marmalades at the seventh World’s Original Marmalade Awards.

Wolds Cottage Kitchen, based in Wetwang, won a Gold Award for its Pink Grapefruit Marmalade and a Bronze Award for its Satsuma Marmalade in the awards, which attracted 1,700 entries from across the world.

Melanie Moss, owner of Wolds Cottage Kitchen, said the international award would raise the profile of the business.

She said: “I have just celebrated my first year of business and to win two amazing awards was the icing on the cake.

“Everything we produce is handmade in small batches from our kitchen in Wetwang. We pride ourselves in not using any artificial preservatives, colourings or flavourings, every jar is as nature intended.”

The business has also teamed with Wold Top Brewery to develop new “Boozy Caramelised Red Onion Chutney” made with Headland Red beer.
