WOMAN world football striker Jess Clarke was not only representing England as she stepped out on to the field against Mexico in Germany last night, but was also a brand ambassador for a York sports and team-wear company.

Jess is being sponsored by RTL Wear Ltd of Clifton Moor, and before leaving for the World Cup met its managing director, Phil Richardson, at the York Girls Football Tournament at Poppleton Junior Football Club, where she was presenting the prizes as guest of honour.

Phil said: “Jess has joined us as the perfect brand ambassador, because RTL Wear Ltd represents family values, quality, service and, more importantly, like her, supports grass-roots football for both boys and girls.

“We are also a distributor for Boost Drinks and we work closely with Macron Team-wear, who also support our aims and aspirations, as we are not just a business but ‘Partners In Sport’.

“We at RTL Wear Ltd wish Jess all the very best in the Ladies England 2011 World Cup Campaign.”

Jess and the England team next play New Zealand Ladies on July 1, followed by Japan on July 5 before the quarter-final stages.
