A NEW commercial cycling tour of York is up and pedalling.
Scoot Cycling Holidays, which soared to the finals in two categories of The Press Business Awards last year, has launched its city tours for the summer.
The two-hour tours, led by experienced, fully-trained guides, follow carefully-chosen cycle routes to allow visitors to spot key historical sites and explore areas where buses dare not venture.
Starting from the Ouse riverside near Lendal Bridge between the York City Rowing Club and the Royal Mail sorting office, the tours have already earned the praise of Graham Titchener, programme manager for Cycling City York.
He said: “This is a great way for visitors to experience York on a bicycle. York is a Cycling City and it is good to see such cycling opportunities arising for our visitors as well as local people.”
Cai Mallett, director of Scoot Cycling Holidays Ltd, said: “The tour builds up a great appetite and is the perfect way to justify some great Yorkshire food afterwards while you think about what to explore further.”
