CONFIDENCE is returning to the housing market in Yorkshire with house sales reaching their highest level since February last year – although the substantial increase in York was not as high as the rest of the county.
That is the conclusion of the latest Agency Express Property Activity Index. It reports that in March, the county saw a third consecutive monthly rise in the number of houses sold and in the number of new “for sale” listings.
Monthly house sales were up in the region by 32.2 per cent in March, and while York’s increase in monthly home sales was only 26.5 per cent it was still above the national average of 23.2 per cent.
