AN award-winning York company, which invented a device to test electrical systems, has launched new workshops to show health and safety experts how to buy and use it.
First Stop Safety, whose PAT (portable appliance testing) device helped it to win the Think Green Business Of The Year in The Press Business Awards 2009, claims its intense one-day PAT testing workshop is proving a hit with delegates, who have used it to win new clients of their own.
The workshop, priced at £225 plus VAT, is held every month in York or Brackley, Northamptonshire. Designed to be practical, with small class sizes, the course teaches delegates how to carry out PAT testing on a range of appliances commonly found in the work place, identify faults and carry out minor repairs. After completing the course and buying a suitable PAT tester, delegates are then qualified to offer PAT testing services on a commercial basis to new and existing clients.
