MORE than 50 key business figures from Yorkshire will meet tomorrow to discuss issues facing the region once the economy starts to recover.
Business Link Yorkshire is hosting a business breakfast round table discussion entitled “Preparing for the upturn, challenges and opportunities”, at Thorpe Park Hotel in Leeds.
With research showing that more businesses collapse as they climb out of recession, senior executives from organisations such as financial services, Yorkshire Forward, local authorities and chambers of commerce will prioritise key issues that firms will face and identify areas for joint action. Speakers include the chief economist for Yorkshire Forward, Patrick Bowes, business leader Barry Dodd and Price Waterhouse Coopers’ director for business recovery, Chris Rooney.
Helen West, chief executive of Business Link, believes the workshop will increase shared understanding. “We must learn the lessons from past recessions,” she said.
