STAFF from the York branch of top northern law firm Dickinson Dees LLP showed they had bags of generosity.
They, along with staff from the company’s other three northern offices – at St Ann’s and Trinity Gardens, Newcastle, together with Tees Valley, raised more than £2,300 for St Oswald’s Hospice in Gosforth, by filling more than 100 charity bags full of clothes and bric-a-brac, which will be sold at St Oswald’s charity shops.
Robin Bloom, senior partner of Dickinson Dees, said: “To raise that amount is a tremendous effort and the staff’s response was overwhelming. The money raised will make a real difference and everyone who contributed should be proud of themselves.”
Anita Irving, community fundraising manager for St Oswald’s, said: “Our retail staff have valued the contents of the 101 bags at £2,309, which is a fantastic result.
“Without the support of Dickinson Dees and other businesses in the region we simply couldn’t continue to provide our specialist care.”
