THE Yorkshire Agricultural Society has donated £5,000 to a national appeal which offers help and support to farmers across the country.
The Farming Help Partnership is a collaboration of several agricultural charities, providing a number of services to meet a wide range of needs in the farming community.
The society, also a charity, is best-known as the organiser of the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate but also works hard to promote and sustain the agricultural community.
Bill Cowling, honorary show director, said: "The society is delighted to make this donation to the Farming Help Appeal. Our agricultural industry and its wellbeing are at the core of everything we do, and our farmers experienced some very hard times in 2007.
"By helping them to overcome their difficulties now, we are ensuring the success of British agriculture in the future."
