TRIUMPH’S in the region’s building industry were celebrated this month at an event in York.

This year’s North and East Yorkshire Building Excellence Awards were held at the Principal Hotel in York, with a turnout of more than 220 guests.

The awards, organised by Local Authority Building Control (LABC), were hosted by Amanda Lamb, television presenter of shows including Selling Houses with Amanda Lamb and A Place in the Sun, who started the evening with a revealing speech about her work involved with properties and television presenting, she then went on to host the awards.

Architects and builders were presented with awards from 13 different categories, with one winner going on to be named Supreme Winner. This year’s overall winner was Atcost House, at Thornton le Clay in Ryedale.

Judging will be taking place next month to discover which of the winning schemes will be continuing to represent Yorkshire at the National Awards held in London in November.
