A North Yorkshire supplier of game and venison has been bought out of administration, saving 25 jobs.
Yorkshire Game 17 Limited, including the retail brand ‘Wild,’ has been acquired by to Gressingham Game, part of the Gressingham Foods group, based in East Anglia.
James Sleight and Peter Hart from Leeds-based restructuring specialists PKF Geoffrey Martin & Co completed the sale of the business and its assets after it fell into administration last month.
Under the terms of the acquisition, Gressingham Game has entered into a new lease for Yorkshire Game 17 Limited’s premises at Brompton on Swale, and has taken on all employees of the business saving around 25 jobs.
Yorkshire Game was founded in 1983, buying product from local estates and supplying it to local restaurants, butchers and wholesalers. Demand for products grew and the business gradually expanded. In 2005 the business moved to its existing 22,000 sq ft processing site.
Gressingham Game Limited, a new company within the Gressingham Foods group best known for Gressingham Duck, has acquired the business.
