THE body representing the professional services sector in York has welcomed two new directors to its board.

The new directors at York Professionals have been appointed in a bit to further strengthen the group’s vision to grow and showcase the community of professionals in York that are recognised as leaders in their field.

The appointments of Elliot Rich of The Alternative Board and Susie Mortonson of Harrowells ensures “greater representation of the professional services industry in the business support and legal sectors” according to chairwoman Anne Taylor.

Commenting on the recent appointments Mrs Taylor said: “I am delighted to welcome Elliot and Susie to the team.

“Our dynamic and enthusiastic board of directors are all actively engaged in business in York, mirroring York Professionals membership sectors, each bringing a different set of skills to the organisation.

“We are so much more than just a network, we are a community of professionals who want to prosper, see the city’s economy flourish and we all play an active role in making that happen.”

York Professionals represents the professional services economy comprising seven key sectors including business support, creative & digital, finance, legal, marketing, people and property.

Working alongside a series of strategic and corporate partners, the aim to support economic growth “to help position York as a world-leading centre for international business and enterprise”.

With currently more than 20% of businesses in York being in professional services sectors, this accounts for more than 21,000 of the city’s workforce.
