THE former chief executive of national private healthcare giant Nuffield Health has been appointed as the new chairman of YorkTest Laboratories.

David Mobbs joins the York-based food intolerance testing company as a recognised and influential healthcare leader, bringing extensive experience in the wellness industry to his new role.

As the former group chief executive officer of Nuffield Health, he devised and led the organisation’s transformation to become the UK’s only integrated private health provider.

Mr Mobbs said: “I’m honoured to have been appointed as chairman of YorkTest Laboratories.

“The company has gone from strength to strength and the work they are doing is helping people and making a real impact on their lives.

“I’m looking forward to supporting YorkTest as they work towards becoming a truly global wellness-based company.”

The York Science Park-based food intolerance testing company began trading in just two countries, in the UK and Ireland, and now trades in 25.

YorkTest plans to expand further with three new country launches scheduled in the next two months alone.

Mr Mobbs was group CEO of Nuffield Health from 2003 to 2015. He now has a successful career as an investor, non-executive chairman, and strategy advisor in healthcare.

In 2010, he was recognised by the private health industry with the Health Investor Award for ‘outstanding contribution to the industry’.

YorkTest Laboratories was established in 1982 and has more than 35 years of excellence in laboratory diagnostic testing, and provides food and drink-specific IgG antibody testing programmes.

The company has grown to become the UK and Europe’s market leader in food intolerance testing.The firm’s tests measure food-specific IgG antibodies to help pinpoint food triggers that may be affecting health.
