CLAIRE Moxon assistant operations manager at York’s Web Adventure Park, has beaten off national competition to win the Employee of Excellence award from BALPPA (British Association of Leisure Parks, Piers and Attractions).

The inaugural awards were open to attractions across the country with entries coming from small family attractions to major UK theme parks.

Claire, who has worked at the park, home of Creepy Crawlies, for nine years, was nominated for her excellent customer service and management skills together with her cheerful personality evidenced throughout the year.

In addition to her usual role she has supported two new managers who have joined the organisation within the last 12 months, as well as starting a book-keeping and accounts course to work towards an accountancy qualification.

Claire says "I’m so proud to have won the award this year and my nan is really happy for me.

"I love working at Creepy Crawlies and I couldn’t have done it without the support of such a professional and fun team here. It’s been a busy year, with lots of challenges and new initiatives and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it."

Janice Dunphy, managing director said: "Claire has been an absolute rock this year. She’s very modest, so I’m absolutely delighted she is BALPPA’s Employee of Excellence and that her dedication to the business has been recognised in this way. She’s always cheerful, organised and willing to step up and help out, whatever the need. I can’t sing her praises enough and we all congratulate her on her success."
