A TEAM from a luxury holiday site have raised more than £100,000 for two cancer charities.

Staff from Park Leisure, in Poppleton, braved the 777 Challenge - a gruelling seven hundred mile, seven-day bike ride challenge through seven countries for Cancer Research UK and Candlelighters.

The journey saw CEO Miles Dewhurst, director of communications Olly Gardner, operations director James Gourlay and original company co-founder Gary Molloy, cycle 700 miles across the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia and Italy.

Mr Dewhurst said: “It was a tough seven days but the money we’ve raised for charities close to our hearts has made it more than worth it. We’ve received an overwhelming amount of support from friends, families, clients and colleagues and I’d like to thank every single person who has donated to our challenge. Charity is extremely important to us at Park Leisure and it’s been an honour to raise money for these incredible causes.”
