A York accountant who specialises in advising charities and not-for-profit organisations has gained a key professional qualification.

Charity and not-for-profit manager at JWP Creers, Veronica Ridsdale, (pictured) has gained the Diploma in Charity Accounting from The Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales.

Ms Ridsdale supports charities serving York and North Yorkshire, advising them on issues including financial management, preparing annual accounts, VAT returns, management accounts and governance.

Having joined JWP Creers as a trainee in 1995 and specialising in supporting charities since accounting regulations were introduced in 1998, Ms Ridsdale qualified as an accounted in 2002. She said: "I am very passionate about working with the charity sector, which plays such as important role in life, and it is a real privilege to receive this recognition."
