A YORK developer has started work on the first phase of a scheme to build 190 new homes in North Yorkshire.
City-based S Harrison and partner Tees Valley Housing have appointed Kier Living to carry out the three-year construction project at High Stakesby in Whitby.
Half of the homes will be affordable, and there will be a mix of two, three and four-bedroom houses, all with gardens, as well as a number of bungalows.
Development director David Clancy, from S Harrison, said: “Through perseverance and a tenacious approach to the planning and design of this development, we have been able to deliver a positive outcome for everyone involved in this well-designed, sustainable scheme.
“Having shown full commitment to this project for a significant amount of time, it’s fantastic to see work now under way in this highly sought-after area of Whitby.”
