NORTH Yorkshire power station Drax has announced the departure of its financial director following an unexpected resignation.
Tony Quinlan, who joined the company based near Selby in 2008, has left to become chief financial officer at electronic components maker Laird, taking up the position on July 1 following the termination of his service agreement with Drax on June 30.
Drax’s head of corporate finance, Michael Scott, will take over from Mr Quinlan on an interim basis from May 31.
The Drax board has said it will now start a process to appoint a new finance director as soon as practicable.
Dorothy Thompson, chief executive, said: “I would like to thank Tony for his contribution to Drax. Tony has been an excellent finance director and has played a key role in the transformation of the group. He has been a pleasure to work with.”
