EMPLOYERS are now able to book places at this year's Careers Week at Selby College.

Staff at the college are already organising the event, which runs from Tuesday, March 3, to Friday, March 6, and allows students to meet representatives from businesses and find out more about working with them.

Last year's visitors included the BBC, Haribo, Nestle, Projects Abroad and Barclays, as well as a number of local employers from the Selby area.

Selby College students will also take part in a series of workshops, question-and-answer sessions with university and company representatives, and could be offered work experience placements.

Rebecca James, Work Placement Co-ordinator at the college said: "Last year’s Careers Week was a resounding success, and we’ve worked hard to make sure that this year’s will be even better.

"With such respected firms offering not only advice and guidance, but actual work placements, it promises to be a great week. It will give students the chance to think about their next steps after their college courses have been completed, whether that path is University, an Apprenticeship, Work Placement or Placement abroad, it will hopefully open their eyes to what’s on offer for them."
