TWO solicitors with more than 30 years experience in their field have launched a new family law firm in York.

Paradigm Family Law has been set up by James Thornton and Frank Arndt from offices in Blake Street, pulling together a combined three decades of experience in the field of family law, and providing specialist legal advice for family matters including international family disputes.

Mr Thornton said: “At Paradigm Family Law we put the client at the heart of everything we do. From day one, our clients know how much the full case will cost them from beginning to end, from first meeting to final resolution even if there are court proceedings.”

In a bid to offer what they have dubbed a “Savile Row” style treatment, the duo are operating with a bespoke fees model.

Mr Arndt said: “This transparency helps our client to budget during a usually stressful time. No alarms, no surprises.

“In other jurisdictions the fixed fee arrangements are already well established. Clients are becoming more and more aware of the value they want for their money. We believe that in time, the hourly rate models will be history.

“Law firms have to adopt very quickly and keep up consumer expectations and demands and city firms are already offering more fixed fee arrangements. We felt the time was right to offer the same to our customers worldwide.”
