BUSINESS solution provider, Welcom Software of Harrogate is in line for yet another major award.

The firm has been short-listed for the Computer Weekly Best Places To Work in IT Award for the second year running.

Three months ago, the £3.7 million turnover venture which employs 56 people, retained its Progress Through People title in The Press Business Awards and also scooped the Large Business Of The Year category.

Now Welcom, along with fellow Harrogate software company Erudine, have made it on to the short-list for the IT Software & Hardware Suppliers category. They face stiff competition from major companies such as Microsoft and GCI on behalf of Dell.

The shortlist nomination reflects Welcom Software's investment in staff development and its continued empowerment of staff to contribute towards the growth of the business.

Nigel Welch, Welcom Sofware's chief executive, said: "Our staff are our most important asset. We believe that to have a happy workforce and to help staff develop and progress their careers is of the ultimate importance.

"The introduction of initiatives such as the dream to reality' award scheme, lunch and learn sessions and our recent commitment to the Investors in People benefits of balance' (healthy work/life balance) scheme illustrates that we are committed to ensuring our staff get the most out of their jobs."
