The Press is sponsoring two tickets for York-based entrepreneurs aged under 26 to attend this year’s annual digital technology conference Shift Happens at York Theatre Royal, on Monday, July 8.

To be in with a chance of winning, entrants should tweet @pilot_theatre stating why they want to attend the conference. The best ten entries will be selected and the winning two drawn and announced in The Press and on thepress.co.uk and on twitter next week.

Shift Happens V, aimed mostly at professionals working in the arts and cultural industries, will be led by Marcus Romer, artistic director of Pilot Theatre, with a stellar line- up of inspirational speakers including internet guru Howard Rheingold, BBC technology show Click presenter, Kate Russell, and Joseph Rowntree Foundation chief executive Julia Unwin.

Shift Happens will focus on the challenges and opportunities for the arts, technology, education and heritage sectors by bringing together influential leaders to York to present their ideas and share their thinking.

Together they will look to maximise the learning and possibilities that digital technologies have to offer, and to refocus the importance of creativity within our cultural development.

Shift Happens V is supported by Arts Professional, Saville Audio Visual and The Press and runs from 11am to 8pm, with speakers on stage between 11.30am and 6pm.

Conference tickets including entry to all events, meals and refreshments cost £150 plus VAT and are available now from York Theatre Royal box office on 01904 623568 and www.yorktheatreroyal.co.uk. You can find out more by going to pilot-theatre.com.
