A FAMILY-run independent bakery has opened in Easingwold.

Dough was founded by husband and wife team Colin and Heidi Poma-Young, after Colin, who has a masters in ecological economics, was made redundant from his role as business development manager at an environmental consultancy.

With the help of his Italian father-in-law, who owns a restaurant in Beverley, he took the leap to turn a passion and hobby into a full-time job.

Colin bakes bread, cakes, biscuits and pizza fresh every day, while Heidi makes daily special pasta dishes and soups at the business, which is inspired by a strong family tradition of Italian baking.
