YORK’S Shepherd family has been ranked the 318th richest family in the UK by The Sunday Times.
The family was listed as the 13th richest in Yorkshire with a £251 million fortune amassed by the family construction business, slightly less than the £258 million which placed them at 12th place last year.
Peter Wilkinson, chief executive of Harrogate software company Intechnology, came joint 258th in the list with £335 million, while John Guthrie, chairman of Scarborough property business Broadland Properties, came in at joint 504th place with £155 million.
Paul Caddick, chairman of Oakgate, the developer behind new department stores at Monks Cross, as well as the Caddick Group, was ranked joint 522nd place with £150 million.
