Former TV chef and foodie Annie Stirk, who channelled her knowledge of food into setting up a specialist public relations and marketing company aimed at the industry, has also been nominated for the accolade.
From her home in Stillington, near York, Annie set up Absolutely Food, which helps businesses promote themselves using her 35 years of experience in the food industry.
As well as being a lecturer in food, nutrition and cordon bleu cookery after setting up her own cookery school, Annie has worked on numerous television shows such as the BBC’s Rhodes Around Britain and ITV’s This Morning.
Annie also spent five years as PR manager of the York Festival of Food and Drink.
She is putting her expertise into the judging and organising panels of many food festivals in the region, including the Flavours of Hambleton Awards.
Annie’s business, Absolutely Food, is also going for Small Business Of The Year.
