AN award winning vehicle leasing and rental company has grown over the last two decades to employ a team of almost 100 York residents.

Autohorn Fleet Services is back in 2018 in a bid to retain its Large Business of the Year title in the Press Business Awards, as well as put itself in the running for the Employer of the Year prize.

The business has enjoyed a busy year having successfully secured an additional £7.5 million worth of funding support from Yorkshire Bank.

The funds will help the firm move onto the next stage of its growth plan which includes; development of new head offices, more employment opportunities for the York area as well as investing in new vehicle markets to enter.

Mark Williams, Autohorn brand specialist, said: “Our success would not have been made possible without our employees.

“To encourage this positive growth even further, we want to ensure that employees have the right tools, resources and opportunities always available to them.

“To help attain this goal, we’ve had a major organisation reshuffle, relinquished some of the power from the directors and gave it to exceptional individuals within our business.

“This has not only created a team of leaders, but they’ve also introduced innovative ways to improve staff morale as well as developing their department’s growth further.”

Autohorn Fleet Services, had recently been announced as Yorkshire’s fastest growing business in 2018, based on figures compiled by Insider of average percentage gain in turnover for the past five years.

The business now boasts a fleet of 2000 cars and a turnover of £23.4 million having started in 1995 as a team of five and a fleet of nine cars.

The recent period of accelerated growth has been achieved as a result of an organisational reshuffle and restructuring of their marketing activities. The business also cites their heavy investment and innovative approach to digital marketing though their websites flexed.co.uk and clearcarleasing.co.uk as a key reason for success.

Product innovation has also been at the heart of the business having identified a need for flexible, short term leasing. Unlike traditional car leasing companies, Autohorn Fleet Services offers their customers the opportunity to enjoy a range of flexible options across a wide range of cars without a long-term contract.

The business has plans for to move to a new head office at Clifton Moor, scheduled for next year. The business anticipates that the move will allow them to create an additional 65 full time jobs by 2020 as well as indirectly creating 136 jobs in the local economy.
