CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 15th day of March 2019 in respect of the location numbered (1) and on the 21st day of March 2019 in respect of the locations numbered (2), (3), (4) and (5). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (6) and (7).

(11 SCARBOROUGH BRIDGE. YORK This Order continues in force The York (Scarborough Bridge) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2019 (original Order) that Order having an expiry date on the 18th day of March 2019. This is necessary to ensure that the new footbridge installation works being undertaken thereon can be undertaken safely. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in (i) footbridge (known as Scarborough Bridge) over the River Ouse, (ii) Esplanade (north side of the River) between a point 10 metres north west and 10 metres south east of Scarborough Bridge and (iii) Esplanade (south side of the River) between a point 10 metres north west and 10 metres south east of Scarborough Bridge (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 0631 hours on the 18th day of March 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on the 12th day of April 2019 (works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be available during the works period.

(21 PLAINVILLE LANE. YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Plainville Lane, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs on the 25th day of March 2019 and ending at 1700hrs on the 27th day of March 2019 (works period) or at a time when electricity works being undertaken thereon has been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.

(3) THE VILLAGE-STONE RIGGS-THE LIMES. STOCKTON ON THE FOREST

This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in that length of footpath connecting The Village with Stone Riggs and The Limes, Stockton on the Forest (closed footpath) during the period when footpath resurfacing works being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 25th day of March 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on the 5th day of April 2019 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be available during the works period.

(41 BOOTHAM LEVEL CROSSING. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Bootham Level Crossing on Wigginton Road, York (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken nearby that period commencing at 2300hrs on the 27th day of March 2019 and ending at 0600hrs on the 28th day of March 2019 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Wigginton Road, Haxby Road, A1237, Wigginton Road and vice versa.

(51 STRENSALL NO. 3 LEVEL CROSSING. STRENSALL This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Strensall No.3 Level Crossing on Lords Moor Lane, Strensall (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2330hrs on the 28th day of March 2019 and ending at 0600hrs on the 29th day of March 2019 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via The Village, York Road, Ox Carr Lane, Flaxton Road, Lords Moor Lane and vice versa.

(6) GREENGALES LANE & WHELDRAKE LANE. YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of Greengales Lane and Wheldrake Lane, York between its junctions with Broadlands and Elvington Lane (closed road) during the period commencing at 0915hrs on the 1st day of April 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on the 14th day of April 2019 (works period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the restrictions will only be put into effect between 0915hrs and 1600hrs during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.

(7) CORBAN LANE. WIGGINTON This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Corban Lane, Wigginton between its junctions with Sutton Road (B1363) and Moor Lane (closed road) during the period commencing at 0915hrs on the 1 st day of April 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on the 2nd day of April 2019 (works period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the restrictions will only be put into effect between 0915hrs and 1600hrs during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period. The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
