CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 6th day of December 2018 in respect of each of the locations Numbered (1), (2) and (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (4), (5)

and (6).

(1) BOOTHAM LEVEL CROSSING, YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Bootham Level Crossing on Wigginton Road, York (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken nearby that period commencing at

2300hrs on the 10th day of December 2018 and ending at 0600hrs on the

12th day of December 2018 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will only be put into effect during overnight periods between 2300hrs on Monday 10th December till 0600hrs on Tuesday 11th December and between 0300hrs till 0600hrs on Wednesday 12th December during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Wigginton Road, Haxby Road, A1237, Wigginton Road and vice versa.

(2) SCARBOROUGH BRIDGE, YORK

This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in (i) footbridge (known as Scarborough Bridge) over the River Ouse, (ii) Esplanade (north side of the River) between a point 10 metres north west and 10 metres south east of Scarborough Bridge and (iii) Esplanade (south side of the River) between a point 10 metres north west and 10 metres south east of Scarborough Bridge (restricted road) during the period when bridge maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2200hrs on the 10th day of

December 2018 and ending at 0530hrs on the 12th day of December 2018

(works period) or at a time and date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the prohibition on pedestrians and vehicles proceeding in the restricted roads will only be put into effect between the following times and dates (inclusive) at each location during the works period:

(i) footbridge (known as Scarborough Bridge) over the River Ouse, between



2200hrson 10th December 2018till 0530hrson 11th December2018and

between 2200hrs on 11 th December 2018 till 0530hrs on 12th December 2018;

(ii) Esplanade (north side of the River) between a point 10 metres north west and 10 metres south east of Scarborough Bridge, between 2200hrs on



10th December 2018 till 0530hrs on 11th December 2018;

(iii) Esplanade (south side of the River) between a point 10 metres north west and 10 metres south east of Scarborough Bridge, between 2200hrs on



11th December 2018till 0530hrs on 12th December 2018.

An alternative route for the diverted pedestrians and traffic at each location will be signed.

(3) TANNER ROW, YORK

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Tanner Row, York (closed road) during the period when nearby building maintenance works being undertaken adjacent to the closed road, that period commencing at 0930hrs on the 11th day of December 2018 and ending at 1530hrs on the 13th day of December 2018 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Tanner Row is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road when the closure is put into effect. An alternative route for divert traffic will be signed during the works period.

(4) PEMBROKE STREET, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Pembroke Street, York between the respective projected southern property boundary lines of No.'s 1 and 11 Pembroke Street (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 8th day of January 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on the 11th day of January 2019 (works period) or at time when water works being undertaken thereon, have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.

(5) ST OSWALD'S ROAD, FULFORD This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in St Oswald's Road, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 8th day of January 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on the 11th day of January 2019 (works period) or at time when new water connection works being undertaken thereon, have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.

(6) LEA WAY, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Lea Way, York between its junction with Leafield Court and the projected southern property boundary lines of No. 32 Lea Way (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs and ending at 2400hrs on the 9th day of January 2019 (works period) or at time when sewer works being undertaken thereon, have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
