CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTION ASKHAM BRYAN FOOTPATH NO 2/9/10, ASKHAM BRYAN
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport in pursuance of powers conferred upon him by Section 15(5) of the Act hereby gives notice that, on the 15th day of November 2018 they made an Order continuing in force The Askham Bryan (Askham Bryan Footpath No 2/9/10) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2017 (original Order) that Order having an expiry date on the 15th day of November 2018. This is necessary to ensure that the closed footpath is fenced off under the terms of the zoo license to help ensure public safety. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the footpath known as Askham Bryan Footpath No. 2/9/10 which connects Askham Fields Lane and A64 (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 16th day of November 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 15th day of November 2019 (danger period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the danger period.
The above temporary Order will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
