Proposed development at: York Railway Station, Station Road, Queen Street and Queen Street Bridge, including Station Car Park. Land to the west of York Railway Station off Cinder Lane at Unipart Rail Service Centre buildings, York, North Yorkshire, York. Take notice that application is being made by City of York Council. For planning permission to: Application for full planning permission (EIA Development) for the following works: Removal of Queen Street Bridge and construction of new highway. Reinstatement and construction of earth ramparts and retaining walls to part of the York City Wall in the vicinity of Tofts Tower. Alterations to existing long and short stay car parks including a two-decked car park and associated lighting, on the site of the existing long stay car park. Construction of a new access road around York Railway Institute Gymnasium and associated accesses to Queen Street. Demolition of the Unipart Rail Service Centre Building off Cinder Lane and construction of a 274 space (approximately) temporary car park for a period of 5 years with associated access, fencing and lighting. Demolition of pedestrian bridge and works to the associated elevation at York Railway Institute (22 Queen Street). Demolition of York Railway Institute Band Room. Works to York Railway Station including the demolition of ‘Parcel Square’ buildings and the construction of a new facade and associated works to retained elevations, new roof and canopy and associated internal alterations including re-arranged accommodation. New paving within the portico and around the Taxi Kiosk. Public realm and highways improvements including relocated taxi rank and drop-off arrangements, new bus facilities, altered and new pedestrian and cycle facilities and associated hard and soft landscaping. Local Planning Authority to whom the application is being submitted: City of York Council, West Offices, Station Rise, York, YO1 6GA.
