TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of
powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act),
made an Order on the 15th day of November 2018 in respect of each of the
locations Numbered (1), (2), (3), (4) and (5). Additionally, the Council, not less
than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order
under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered
(6), (7), (8) and (9).
(1) WETHERBY ROAD/A1237, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in those lengths of
(i) A1237, York between points 530 metres north and 470 metres south of the
roundabout controlled junction with Wetherby Road (B1224) and (ii) Wetherby
Road (B1224), York between points 350 metres east and 450 metres west of
the roundabout controlled junction with A1237 (closed road) during the period
commencing at 2000hrs on the 19th day of November 2018 and ending at
0600hrs on the 29th day of November 2018 (works period) or at a time when
carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon has been completed
whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the works can be carried out
safely. It is envisaged that the works will only be put into effect during overnight
periods between 2000hrs and 0600hrs during the works period.
(2) WILTON RISE, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Wilton Rise,
York between its junctions with Railway Terrace and St Paul’s Terrace (closed
road) during the period when water works being undertaken thereon have
been completed whichever is the earlier. That period commencing at 0930hrs
and ending at 1530hrs on the 19th day of November 2018 (works period) or
at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. An
alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(3) THIEF LANE, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding in the west bound traffic lane of
Thief Lane between its junctions with University Road and Kexby Avenue (closed
traffic lane) and prohibiting vehicles from making a left hand turn from University
Road into Thief Lane and from making a right hand turn from Green Dykes
Lane into Thief Lane (restricted vehicle movement) during the period when
telecommunication works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing
at 1930hrs on the 19th day of November 2018 and ending at 2300hrs on the
21st day of November 2018 or at a time when the works have been completed
whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out
safely. It is envisaged that the works will only be put into effect during overnight
periods between 1930hrs and 2300hrs on each day during the works period.
An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(4) WIGGINTON ROAD, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Wigginton
Road, York between its junctions with Clifton Moorgate and Crichton Avenue
(closed road) during the period when carriageway resurfacing works which
are being undertaken thereon have been completed, that period commencing
at 1930hrs and ending at 2400hrs on the 19th day of November 2018 or at a
time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to
ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for
diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) CINDER LANE, YORK NO. 55/1/10 & YORK NO. 55/132/30, YORK
This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in that length of
closed footpath, known as (i) Cinder Lane, York between Scarborough Bridge
and a point 40 metres west of the said bridge, (ii) York Footpath No 55/1/10
between Scarborough Bridge and a point 120 meters east of the said bridge
and (iii) York Footpath No 55/132/30 between its junction with York Footpath
No 55/1/10 and a point 50 metres south of the said junction (closed footpath)
during the period when nearby tree felling and vegetation clearance works
being undertaken thereon. The prohibition commences at 2100hrs on the 19th
day of November 2018 and ends at 0630hrs on the 23rd day of November
2018 (works period) or on a date when the said works being undertaken
thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that
the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will
only be put into effect during overnight periods between 2000hrs and 0600hrs
during the works period. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and
vehicles will be signed around the site compound area during works period.
(6) PETERCROFT LANE, DUNNINGTON
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Petercroft
Lane, Dunnington between its junctions with Common Road and Garden Flats
Lane (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 3rd
day December 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 10th day of December
2018 (works period) or at time when gas mains replacement works being
undertaken thereon, have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to
ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for
diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(7) BEACONSFIELD STREET
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Beaconsfield
Street, York between its junction with School Street and a point 75 metres
south west of the said junction (closed road) during the period commencing
at 0800hrs on the 3rd day of December 2018 and ending at 2000hrs on the
7th day of December 2018 (works period) or at time when water works being
undertaken thereon, have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to
ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for
diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(8) TRINITY LANE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Trinity Lane,
York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0700hrs and ending at
2000hrs on the 7th day of December 2018 (works period) or at time when
works to deliver large machinery to a property adjacent to the closed road
have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said
works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the ‘ONE WAY’ direction of traffic
flow in Trinity Lane is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow
two-way traffic flow in the said road when the closure is put into effect.
(9) FORDLANDS ROAD & GERMANY BECK DEVELOPMENT SPINE ROAD
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting (i) Fordlands
Road, York between its junction with Selby Road (A19) and a point 190
metres south of the said junction (ii) Germany Beck Development Spine Road,
York from its junction with Selby Road (A19) east for the remainder of its
length (closed road) during the period commencing at 2100hrs on the 23rd
day November 2018 and ending at 0300hrs on the 24th day of November
2018 (works period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being
undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to
ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for
diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor
will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented
by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the
extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
