CITY OF YORK COUNCIL NOTICE OF MAKING THE YORK TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT (AMENDMENT) (NO 14/5) ORDER 2018
Notice is hereby given that on the 25th day of January 2018 City of York Council, in exercise of powers under Sections 1, 2, 4 and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Act, made an Order which has the effect of:
Revoking the restriction on vehicles from making a right turn from Museum Street into Library Square.
The Order comes into effect on the 29th day of January 2018
A copy of the Order incorporating maps can be inspected at the Reception, West Offices, Station Rise, York, during normal business hours. Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended or that a requirement of any regulation thereunder has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date of making of the Order, make application for that purpose to the high court.
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 25th day of January 2018 in respect of the location numbered (1) and on the said date in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Act made an Order in respect of the location numbered (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the location numbered (3).
(1) WHELDRAKE LANE, YORK This Order amends The York (Wheldrake Lane) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2018 (Original Order) by extending the area of closed traffic lane to include (i) that length of the east bound traffic lane of Wheldrake Lane between its junction with Crockey Hill and a point 200 metres east of the said junction and prohibit vehicles from making a left turn from A19 (Crockey Hill) into Wheldrake Lane the said amendments to be effective from 0001 hours on the 29th day of January 2018 and ending at 2400 hours on the 11 th day of March 2018, thereby also continuing the works period beyond the original end of the works period of 28th day of January 2018.
(2) PICCADILLY, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding in the south bound traffic lane of Piccadilly, York between its junction with The Pavement and a point 70 metres south east of the said junction (closed traffic lane) and prohibiting vehicles from waiting in the adjacent parking bay on Piccadilly during the period when electricity works being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 29th day of January 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 9th day of February 2018 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the local Bus Lane on Coppergate is suspended during the works period to enable Coppergate to be used as part of the alternative route for diverted vehicles. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(3) HOLLY TREE LANE, HAXBY This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Holly Tree Lane, Haxby between its junction with York Road and the projected eastern property boundary line of No. 1 Holly Tree Lane (closed road) during the period commencing at 1200hrs and ending at 1700hrs on the 16th day of February 2018 (works period) or at time when works to renew the fire hydrant, being undertaken thereon, have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period. The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
