NOTICE OF MAKING THE YORK PARKING, STOPPING AND WAITING (AMENDMENT) (NO 14/20) TRAFFIC ORDER 2018
Notice is hereby given that on the 18th day of January 2018 City of York Council, in exercise of powers under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 45, 46, 53 and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Act, made an Order which has the effect of:

Re-defining 'Residents' Priority' parking area thereby bringing within the R59 zone all the residential properties on St Aubyn's Place, thereby providing unlimited parking for Permit Holders in unrestricted lengths of St Aubyn's Place, the said lengths being identifiable by the placement of upright traffic signs at the Area 'entry' and 'exit' points (as opposed to the placement of Residents' Parking signs and road markings adjacent to the kerb). The Order comes into effect on 22nd day of January 2018.
A copy of the Order incorporating relevant maps can be inspected at the Reception, West Offices, Station Rise, York, during normal business hours. Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended or that a requirement of any regulation thereunder has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date of making of the Order, make application for that purpose to the High Court.
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 18th day of January 2018 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1) and (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (3) and (4).
(1) LEEMAN ROAD GYRATORY, YORK This Order prohibits (i) vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Tanner Row, York between its junction with Rougier Street and a point 14 metres north east of the said junction; (ii) vehicles proceeding in the west bound traffic lane of Station Road between city walls and a point 40 metres north west of the city walls (closed road); (iii) pedal cycles from proceeding in a easterly direction in Leeman Road between its junction with Station Road and a point 90 metres west of the said junction (closed cycle lane) and (iv) pedestrians and vehicles proceeding in the footway on the north side of Station Road between its junction with Station Avenue and a point 20 metres east of the city walls (closed footpath) during the period when traffic signal improvement works being undertaken thereon have been completed that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 21st day of January 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 9th day of March 2018 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, vehicles travelling in a north westerly direction in Rougier Street will be able to turn either left or right into Station Road during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period. It is envisaged that the works will be undertaken in phases during the works period and the restrictions will only be put into effect during the following dates:
(i) Tanner Row between Sunday 21st January and Friday 23rd February,

(ii) Station Road between Wednesday 14th February and Friday 2nd March,

(iii) Leeman Road between Sunday 21st January and Friday 23rd February,

(iv) Station Road footpath between Wednesday 14th February and Friday 9th March.

(2) WHELDRAKE LANE, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding in that length of the west bound traffic lane of Wheldrake Lane between its junction with CrockeyHill and a point200 metres eastofthe said junction (closed traffic lane) during the period when carriageway improvement works being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001hrs on the 20th day of January 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 28th day of January 2018 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, a prohibition on vehicles turning right from the A19 into Wheldrake Lane will be in place for the duration of the works period. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period. This Order continues the temporary road closure Notice which had an end date of 2400hrs on the 19th day of January 2018.
(3) DENNIS STREET, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Dennis Street, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0915hrs and ending at 1700hrs on the 5th day of February 2018 (works period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. During the works period vehicle movements on Piccadilly will be maintained via temporary traffic lights. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(4) POPPLETON STATION LEVEL CROSSING, UPPER POPPLETON This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Poppleton Station Level Crossing on Station Road, Upper Poppleton (closed road) during the period commencing at 2230hrs on 7th day of February 2018 and ending at 0800hrs on the 9th day of February 2018 or at time when track maintenance works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put into effect during overnight periods, between 2230hrs and 0800hrs on each night during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Station Road, Long Ridge Lane, Millfield Lane, A1237, Boroughbridge Road (A59), Station Road and vice versa.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns.
