CITY OF YORK COUNCIL NOTICE OF MAKING THE YORK SPEED LIMIT (AMENDMENT) (NO 14/8) ORDER 2016 Notice is hereby given that on the 14th day of December 2016 City of York Council, in exercise of powers under Sections 82, 83, 84 and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Act, made an Order which has the effect of: Revoking the 40 mph speed limit in that length of:

(i) Water Lane (C419), Clifton Without/York, between its junctions with Clifton Moorgate and Green Lane thereby allowing a statutory 30mph speed limit to take effect within the said length by virtue of the standard of street lighting provision;



(ii) Green Lane, Clifton Without, between its junction with Water Lane to a point 100 metres north east from the projected centreline of Bowland Way thereby allowing a statutory 30mph speed limit to take effect within the said length by virtue of the standard of street lighting provision.



The Order comes into effect on the 19th day of December 2016

A copy of the Order incorporating relevant maps can be inspected at the Reception, West Offices, Station Rise, York, during normal business hours. Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended or that a requirement of any regulation thereunder has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date of making of the Order, Make application for that purpose to the High Court.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council) not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), intends to make an Order in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3) (4), (5), (6) and (7).

(1) PEASHOLME GREEN, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in (i) Peasholme Green, York (ii) Dundas Street, York and (iii) The Stonebow, York between its junctions with Peasholme Green and Hungate (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs on the 9th day of January 2017 and ending at 1800hrs on the 22nd day of January 2017 (works period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put in to place, between 0800hrs and 1800hrs on Sunday 9th January and Sunday 15th January during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.

(2) WALMGATE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Walmgate, York between its junctions with Merchangate and St Denys' Road (closed road) during the period commencing at 0930hrs and ending at 1530hrs on the 9th day of January 2017 (works period) or at a time when carriageway maintenance works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Merchangate is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.

(3) ROUGIER STREET, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Rougier Street, York between its junctions with Station Road and Tanner Row (closed road) during the period commencing at 2100hrs on the 9th day of January 2017 and ending at 0600hrs on the 10th day of January 2017 (works period) or at a time when works on a nearby building being undertaken by crane operation from the nearby closed road have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.

(4) GLEBE AVENUE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Glebe Avenue, York between its junction with Malvern Avenue and a point 20 metres east of the said junction (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs and ending at 2400hrs on the 11th day of January 2017 (works period) or at a time when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.

(5) BERESFORD TERRACE, YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Beresford Terrace, York between its junctions with Bishopthorpe Road and Finsbury Street (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 14th day January 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 15th day of January 2017 (works period) or at a time when gas main replacement works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.

(6) FOSSGATE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Fossgate, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on the 16th day January 2017 and ending at 2400hrs on the 17th day of January 2017 (works period) or at a time when gas works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Fossgate is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road when the closure is put into effect. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.

(7) BOOTHAM LEVEL CROSSING, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Bootham Level Crossing on Wigginton Road, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 2300hrs on 17th day of January 2017 and ending at 0640hrs on the 18th day of January 2017 or at time when track maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Wigginton Road, Haxby Road, A1237, Wigginton Road and vice versa.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
