Temporary Traffic Restrictions

Notice Is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), In exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 21 st day of April 2022 in respect of the location numbered (1). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7) & (8).
(1) THE SHAMBLES & PAVEMENT. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on The Shambles, York between its junction with Pavement and the projected southern boundary of property No 28 (closed road) during the period when building survey works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2000hrs on Monday, 25 April 2022 and ending at 0800hrs on Wednesday, 27 April 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally all vehicles & pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding and waiting in that length of the footway on the northern side of Pavement between its junctions with Parliament Street and The Shambles (closed footway). It is envisaged that the works will be completed in one night only during the works period. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.
(2) PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO'S 3/15/10 & 3/15/20. STRENSALL
This Order will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in those lengths of footpath on Public Footpath No's 3/15/10 & 3/15/20, Strensall (i) on Public Footpath No 3/15/10 between its junctions with Thompson Drive and Public Footpath No 3/15/20 and (ii) on Public Footpath No 3/15/20 between its junction with Public Footpath No 3/15/10 and a location 282 metres northeast of said junction (closed footpaths) during the period when roadway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0900hrs on Monday, 02 May 2022 and ending at 1700hrs on Friday, 03 June 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the Public Footpaths will only be closed between Monday and Friday each week and will be reopened for weekend use during the works period.
(3) STRENSALL NO. 1 LEVEL CROSSING. STRENSALL
This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Strensall No. 1 Level Crossing on York Road, Strensall (closed road) during the period when railway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2335hrs on Tuesday, 03 May 2022 and ending at 0555hrs on Thursday, 05 May 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(4) CORNER CLOSE & HELMSLEY GROVE. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Corner Close & Helmsley Grove, York (closed roads) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Tuesday, 03 May 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Wednesday, 04 May 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.
(5) MICKLEGATE. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding through the centre span of Micklegate Bar on Micklegate, York between the eastern boundary of Micklegate Bar and a location 18 metres south west of said boundary (closed road) during the period when building maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Tuesday, 03 May 2022 and ending at 1800hrs on Tuesday, 17 May 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.
(6) FENWICK STREET. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Fenwick Street, York between the projected northern boundary of property No 14 and the projected western boundary of property No 59 (closed road) during the period when sewer maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Wednesday, 04 May 2022 and ending at 1700hrs on Wednesday, 04 May 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.
(71 ST MARK'S GROVE. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on St Mark's Grove, York (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0930hrs on Thursday, 05 May 2022 and ending at 1430hrs on Friday, 06 May 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.
(8) NAVIGATION ROAD. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Navigation Road, York between its junction with Rosemary Place and a location 58 metres north of said junction (closed road) during the period when roadway lining works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0900hrs on Friday, 06 May 2022 and ending at 1200hrs on Friday, 06 May 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/ barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
