TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1), 15(8) & 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 9th day of September 2021 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3) & (4). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (5) & (6).
(1) MAIN STREET. COPMANTHORPE
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Main Street, Copmanthorpe between the extended southern boundary of property No 4 Main Street (Trowel House Farm) and the extended northern boundary of property No 2 Moor Lane, Copmanthorpe (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2030hrs on the 13th day of September 2021 and ending at 0400hrs on the 17th day of September 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Church Street, Copmanthorpe is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in said road when the closure is put into effect. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 2030hrs and 0400hrs each night.
(2) MOUNT VALE DRIVE. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Mount Vale Drive, York between the extended southern boundary of property No 14 and the extended eastern boundary of property No 2 Towton Avenue (closed road) during the period when new roadway connection works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on the 14th day of September 2021 and ending at 1630hrs on the 17th day of September 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will be reopened each night between 1630hrs and 0800hrs the following morning.
(3) CARMELITE STREET. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles and pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Carmelite Street, York (closed road) during the period when building works are being undertaken nearby, commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1700hrs on the 17th day of September 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles and pedestrians will be signed during the works period.
(4) MAIN STREET. BISHOPTHORPE
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Main Street, Bishopthorpe between the junctions with Acaster Lane and Croft Court (closed road) during the period when a community event (Bishopthorpe Festival) is being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0700hrs and ending at 1900hrs on the 19th day of September 2021 (event period). This is to ensure that said event can be held safely.
(5) BOOTHAM & GILLYGATE. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in those length of road on (i) Gillygate, York and (ii) Bootham, York between the junctions with Gillygate and Burton Stone Lane (closed roads) during the period when traffic signal works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on the 19th day of September 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 22nd day of October 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that Gillygate will be closed daily between 0900hrs and 1700hrs and Bootham will be closed between 1900hrs and 2300hrs each night between the dates of 19th September 2021 and 7th October 2021. Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained at all times. Additionally, all footpaths around the junction of Bootham, Gillygate, St Leonard's Place and High Petergate will be subject to closure for 45metres in each direction from said junction (closed footpaths) and all stopping, waiting and loading at the taxi rank on the south-western bound carriageway of St Leonard's Place between the Junction with Bootham and a location approximately 25metres south west of said junction and will be suspended (restricted vehicle movement) and parking suspensions will be in place on both sides of Burton Stone Lane, York (a) between the junctions with Lumley Road and Cromer Street and (b) between the junctions of Field View and Crichton Avenue (suspension areas).
(6) SCARCROFT ROAD & SCARCROFT HILL. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on (a) Scarcroft Road, York between the projected western boundary of property No 52 and a location approximately 150 metres south east of the junction with The Mount, York and (b) Scarcroft Hill, York between the junction with Scarcroft Road and a location approximately 15 metres south west of said junction (closed roads) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1930hrs on the 20th day of September 2021 and ending at 0500hrs on the 24th day of September 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 1930hrs each night and 0500hrs the following morning. The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
