CITY OF YORK COUNCIL THE YORK TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT (AMENDMENT) (NO. 14/91 ORDER 2021 NOTICE OF MAKING Notice is hereby given that on the 26th day of August 2021 City of York Council ("the Council") in exercise of powers under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4 and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Act, made the above (Amendment) Order giving permanent effect to the provisions of The York (High Petergate) (Experimental) Traffic Order 2020 thereby revoking the said Experimental Orders. The provisions of the Experimental Order which came into effect on the 3rd day of March 2020 and which are being continued on a permanent basis:
Amending the restriction on vehicles, to allow pedal cycles to travel in a south easterly direction in High Petergate, York between Bootham Bar and its junction with Duncombe Place during the pedestrian period (10.30am - 5pm 7 days a week).
The Order comes into effect on the 28th day of August 2021.
A copy of the (Amendment) Order, statement of reasons for making the
provisions contained within It and map showing the lengths of road affected
may be inspected at the City of York Council Reception West Offices, Station
Rise, York, YOl 6GA during normal business hours. Any person who wishes
to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds
that it Is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as
amended or that a requirement of any regulations thereunder has not been
complied with may, within 6 weeks from the commencement date of the
Order, make application for that purpose to the High Court.
