TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 15* day of July 2021 in respect of the locations numbered (1) & (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), (8) & (9).
m THANET ROAD. YORK
THANET ROAD. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Thanet Road, York between the junction with Eason View and the north western projected boundary of property No. 279 (closed road) during the period when road resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0915hrson the 19th day of July 2021 and ending at 1600hrson the 22nd day of July 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Access to Southfield Crescent will be restricted during the works period. It is expected that the road will reopen overnight between 1600hrs each afternoon and 0915hrs the following morning. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period
(21 MICKLEGATE & BLOSSOM STREET. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles and pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road, including footways, on Micklegate & Blossom Street, York between the junction of Micklegate with Bar Lane and the north eastern projected boundary of property No. 5 Blossom Street, York (closed road) during the period when building survey works are being undertaken on Micklegate Bar, commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1700hrs on the 19th day of July 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. At least one footway will be kept open for the duration of the works. Cyclists will be required to dismount and walk their bikes through on the footway. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period
(31YORK ROAD LEVEL CROSSING. STRENSALL This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through and waiting in that length of road on Strensall No. 1 Level Crossing on York Road, Strensall (closed road) during the period when trackway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2230hrs on the 24th day of July 2021 and ending at 0700hrs on the 25th day of July 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure thai the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period
(41 THE GREEN. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on The Green, York between the projected western boundaries of property No's 5 and 39 (closed road) during the period when road resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1930hrs on the 26th day of July 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 28th day of July 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period
(51 WATER END. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of combined footpath and cyclepath on Water End, York between the junction with Boroughbridge Road and a location approximately 280 metres east of said junction (closed footpath / cyclepath) during the period when survey works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 26th day of July 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 13th day of August 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period
(6) MICKLEGATE. NORTH STREET. BRIDGE STREET AND SKELDERGATE. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in the lengths of road at the junction of Micklegate, North Street, Bridge Street and Skeldergate, York, and 25 metres in each direction from said junction (closed roads) during the period when road resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1930hrs on the 26th day of July 2021 and ending at 0500hrs on the 28th day of July 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Tanner Row will be suspended during the period of physical closure to allow traffic managed two-way traffic flow in said road. It is expected that the road closure will be implemented in phases and all roads will be reopened during the day. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
(71 SCARCROFT ROAD. YORK This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of footpath i) on both sides of Scarcroft Road, York between a location approximately 25 metres east of the junction with Scarcroft Hill and a location approximately 10 metres west of said junction and ii) the first 10 metres of the footpath known as Scarcroft Lane from Scarcroft Road to Moss Street (closed footpaths) during the period when traffic signal refurbishment works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 26th day of July 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 13th day of August 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.
Additionally, parking suspensions will be in place a) on both sides of Scarcroft Road between a location approximately 43 metres east of the junction with Scarcroft Hill and a location approximately 70 metres east of said junction and b) on both sides of Scarcroft Hill between a location approximately 10 metres south of the junction with Scarcroft Road and a location approximately 25 metres south of said junction (restricted roads).Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times during the works period.
(8) ACASTER LANE. BISHOPTHORPE This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Acaster Lane, Bishopthorpe between the projected southern boundary of property No. 168 Acaster Lane and a location approximately 105 metres south of said projected boundary (closed road) during the period when electricity supply works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 26th day of July 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 27th day of July 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period
(91 YORK 10K. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding (pedal cycles may be pushed) and waiting in the whole or in any length of a road listed in the schedule below (restricted roads) on the occasion of the ASDA Foundation York 10 Kilometre Run being a charitable sporting event (event). This is to ensure that the said event can be held in safety. It is envisaged that:
(a) With the exception of Knavesmire Road and Racecourse Road, the prohibition on vehicles proceeding and waiting in the respective restricted roads will only be put into effect to accommodate the passage of the event between 0700 hours and 1300 hours on the 1st day of August 2021,

(b) In Knavesmire Road (where the event will start and finish) - the prohibition on vehicles proceeding will be put into effect from 1200hrs on 31st day of July 2021 to 1400hrs on 1st day of August 2021 with waiting restrictions being put in place as necessary between 1700hrs on 30th day of July 2021 and 1400hrs on 1st day of August 2021,

(c) In Bishopthorpe Road between its junction with Campleshon Road and the junction with Balmoral Terrace, Racecourse Road and Church Lane, Bishopthorpe - the prohibition on vehicles proceeding will accord with that in paragraph (a) with the prohibition on waiting being put into effect from 1600hrs on 31st day of August 2021 to 1400hrs on 1st day of August 2021.

No requirement will be made for an alternative route for prohibited traffic.
Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Lower Friargate Street will be suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in said road.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns.
