TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 15th day of April 2021 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2) and (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (4), (5) and (6).

(11 WALMGATE. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Walmgate, York between the junction with St Denys Road and the junction with George Street (closed road) during the period when sewer works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1230hrs on the 25th day of April 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.

(2) GRAPE LANE. YORK



This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Grape Lane, York approximately 30 metres South West of the junction with Low Petergate (closed road) during the period when sewer works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 26th day of April 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 29th day of April 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.

(3) KENT STREET. YORK



This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road at Kent Street, York between its junction with Cemetery Road & a point 50 metres west of said junction (closed road) during the period when electrical works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 26th day of April 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 30th day of April 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.

(4) HIGHLANDS AVENUE. YORK This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding along that length of footpath connecting Highlands Avenue to York Road, Strensall (closed footpath) during the period when power grid works being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 3rd day of May 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 28th day of May 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.

(5) WELLINGTON ROW. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Wellington Row, York between the junction with Tanner's Row and a location 32 metres North of said junction (closed road) during the period when flood defence works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 4th day of May 2021 and ending at 2359hrs on the 3rd day of August 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.

f61 LOWER FRIARGATE. YORK

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Lower Friargate, York between the junction with Clifford Street, York and a position approximately 40 metres South West of said junction (closed road) during the period when broadband network works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on the 4th day of May 2021 and ending at 1800hrs on the 6th day of May 2021 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in King's Staith and Lower Friargate are suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said roads and the 'ONE WAY' direction of travel in Cumberland Street is reversed to allow vehicles to travel in a north easterly direction when the closure is put into effect.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
